Not Just Another Alt

I couldn't get on BT Sunday, the queue was several hundred deep. I had planned to play my new hunter when I thought, "What am I doing I already have a hunter and at a higher level than any of my other toons." So off to Velen I went to log into my first ever toon, Valynda.

What a hoot. Of course after I got her new bags and a hair cut we went straight to the battle ground. I missed my hunter. I don't remember her being fun before.

We went to Stranglethorne and got her some new pets, raptor and tiger. That rapter rocks.
Finished some quests I started 6 months ago and did an AH run for new companion pets.

The economy on Velen is crazy out of whack.

I've got to work on my hunter for the Apocalypse guild, I really miss the hunter pets.

Battleground

I've discovered the battlegrounds. OMG
I still don't have a clue what to do or what the objective is (I know I'm a noob) but I loved it and I'm going back hehe.

I've got research to do. :)

Altitis Strikes Again

So while my two main toons Val and Cat are aquiring some rest time I decided to indulge my other favorite pastime. I created another apt. Yep I did.

I started a hunter darn if I even know her name right now. She's on BT and Im planning on specing her for SV unless the new patch is favorable to BM again.

Saturday Rambling and QQ

So it's almost noon server time on Borean Tundra. My guild is probably all assembling in Mulgore for our first group event. But am I going to be there? No! I am really bummed. I know it's just a game (in my head) but my heart is in it and I'm forming a social identity there that I don't have in RL. I know how sad is that.

There are supposed to be races, foot and horse racing. And all sorts of general merry making. I'm sure someone will bring alcohol. Which reminds me I did see our illustrious guild leaders in BootyBay and Jade was intoxicated hmmmmm. Sampling the goodies early.

Ok done with the QQing.

I know I haven't been vigilant about keeping up with my writing. Work has been brutal and after work, well in a previous entry I did mention I have home drama that I sometimes deal with. Hence, why I'm missing my guild's event today, whaaaa!

I did get to play both my Lock and Druid this week and got Cat my Lock up to 24 yeah. We're almost to artisan on inscription but that has been an expensive adventure and nobody buys the darn Glyphs or scrolls anyway. They are always returned from the AH. :( So I give them to my guildies, which is only right anyway, or vendor them.

I played Cat till all her rested time was up (2 level jump) then jumped over to my Druid Valentyra and played out her rested time. I recently respec'd her to feral and am having a much easier time with my quests. She's at 25 now and I'm learning how and when to use bear or cat forms depending on the type of mob I'm up against. I don't always choose correctly but it's getting better.

Oh darn it's noon server time the party is starting. I hate unsupportive home drama.

The Long Grind

I'm bound and determined to level up. I'm grinding away at the quests and taking advantage of rested time for the experience bonus it gives. Since I can't play as much as some peeps I need all the advantage I can get.

To this end I'm alternating between my Lock on BT and my Druid on Velen. Both are level 24 so alternating between them makes sense, to me anyway.

I've learned alot though I'm sure my daughter would argue I'm a horrible noob.

The guild is having it's first event in Blood Hoof village this weekend and I'm bummed I may not get to be there. I really am trying to be part of this group but it's hard when you can't play when everyone else is on. Though I guess i'm surprised to hear some guildies were asking after me?

I get dissapointed too easily when I try to do runs and it seems I get left behind. I really need direction till I get the hang of it and as noob (sort of) I guess I'm really bad at it.

Too much WoW?

How do you tell that you are playing too much WoW.

I dream of scrolling guild chat windows.
I dream in WoW speak.
I subcribe to 14 WoW blogs, 4 WoW tweeter entries and WoW Insider for Face Book.
There is a ring in the toilet.
The dust bunnies are going to require a hutch if they keep multiplying at the rate they are.

And last I spend all my spare time when the servers are down updating and reading all the above content instead of catching up on the neglected chores but it's early. ;)

Writers Block

Really been struggling with something to write about. Don't want to always focus on the drama.

I've been scanning all the regular blogs I read on a daily basis (14) for the newest info on warlock strategy but the lock blogs have been very quiet since the last update. I kept reading about locks being nerfed but that must only apply to end game content since I've noticed no changes at all.

Same with Druid specs in The Big Bear Butt's blog supposedly there was a huge nerf to bear armor but only seems to effect end game content for raiders.

According to Big Red Kitty BM is no longer a viable spec and he has spent the last two weeks in his blog examining the SV spec which is in the forefront for hunter DPS. Again this is all geared toward end game raising.

So where oh where are the lock strategy and leveling guides. /sigh

The AWOL Cloud

Logged in for a brief moment to check on the guild and found that Cloud was back among us. Yeah!

I still don't know the details but I feel that our core group are all safely back in the nest.

I hate drama.

Guild 2nd Lost

We lost our Cloudhoof last night. As of this writing we don't know why. Every one says he was fine all day but then he just /gquit and took all his alts with him. :/

GL Jade tried to speak to him but he put her on ignore.

What drama. He will be missed as he was our highest level warrior, we really don't need primadona's either.

I'll edit this when I learn more.

Warlock Grouping

Ran an instance with two other locks last night. I was so uncomfortable the whole time. I think it would have been easier if we had all been in in game chat or vent or something. I didn't know what to do and I wanted to learn something about playing my class.

On the bright side I did get new bracers and a new dress. We left a lot laying on the ground though.

This morning I made level 20 and Cloud helped me get my sucubus quest done. He's been so helpful. He helped me last night get my Valentine achievement.

I really like the lock class. I want to work my Mage too though I like casters in general. I rolled a warrior to play when I'm letting Cat gain rested time. She's undead an I named her Rubybludbath. Goulish. Mwuaaa.

I Love Apocalypse

Wow what a great bunch of people. Got a good active group on Vent last night for the first time. I think we're warming up to each other now. There were about 5 of us that stayed on and got to know each other. It was Severd. Soluna. Meretrix. Voodude. me Cat and Jade.

Got a real surprise to find that Meretrix was a guy but plays a female Belf Lock. I got some good advice from the other lock that was also on vent with us too Soluna. I also got a great macro for my attack rotation. I love these guys.

Jade chimed in for a bit but computer issues are still plaguing her. Almost tax time girl

We had more drama last night in the form of a guildie spamming the chat with obsenities and wild accusasions that we were treating him badly because he/she was black. HUH?
You can't see color. Mere and Bell who are both officers demoted him and made changes to the web site so as not to allow him access to the bank or vent but they had no rights to /gkick him which was a shame. We all put him on ignore and that helped the spamming.

On a funny note my leetle friend Leefw whispered me to get back in the guild but I didn't reply. That guy was creepy. He must have come from an RP server before, I am being kind here, to be so wierd as to ask someones mom to be their in game girlfriend. Ewwwe.

Up by 5

Had a great weekend of WoW. Got to play more than usual and on Borean Tundra with Sarah's guild, Apocalypse. What a great group. I've never felt so much a part of a guild before. This is what I've been looking for in team playing.

I logged into the Velen server to play my other toons and let my BT's get some rested time logged but I couldn't settle in and play them. I wanted to get back to the fun server. LOL

On that note, I played on Saturday for about 5 hours straight then took a break and came back on to play till 2:30 am. Whoohoo that was fun. Played my Lock all evening started at level 9 and ended at 14.

It helped that I had played all this content before, but it had been quite a while so it was not boring. I got stuck on my level 10 class quest for my Void Walker. As an Alli you don't have to fight mobs to get him so I was unprepared for that. I died several times in quick succession then decided to level up a bit and come back.

I didn't realize that Class quests followed your levelsso every time I leveled up the quest then changed it's level number too. So I'm thinking Yikes I'm in trouble here, and by level 14 I finally figured out that the mobs didnt change level just I did whew. What a noob.

I'm enjoying the game again. Yes!!

Another thing I found interesting since joining this guild is how do Cloud and Jade always know when a person has leveled. I mean the glow is not off the toon and I havent finished typing "ding" in guild in guild chat and they've already sent a "grats". How do they do that and I want that macro too. Meh!

New Server / New Guild

I rolled new toons on Borean Tundra. A Belf Mage named Irelia and a Belf Lock named Catryalini . My daughter is the guild leader and she's got a couple of really great guys as officers. I leveled to 9 on Irelia then had to go to work. The next day I leveled Cat to 8. I really like these toons.

This guild is already pretty good size, 63 members yesterday and feels like family. A real chatty bunch. But like all families it has it's little dramas. Cloudhoof, the second, had to /gkick someone for being offensive and rude. Then someone else said Cloud was insulting him and he /gquit. Oh Boy!

Sarah has really strong leadership skills as well as being so knowlegable about the game. This is a strong and active guild I think it's going to take on a life of it's own. Haha

Inscription Profession Update

Well started slow this morning as I has some minor computer issue that I had to run a diagnostic on before my computer would start up, Ugh! Was worried I had contracted something dreadful that would wipe my hard drive never allowing me to play WoW again
:/

Got past that and logged into my main Alli toon, Catryalini, to pass out some gold to my other toons. Then went strait to my Lock, Belmada, to work on leveling Inscriptions. I'm at level 101 and am able to make Major Glyphs for all classes. I've put a glyph on Belmada and sent one to Rachel for her hunter. I've put a gang of them and some scrolls in the AH at a low price to see how they do. I need more herbs and I can make more ink. I don't know who needs what so I'm just going to put items into he guild bank and let peeps pull what they need.

I have an armor glyph that requires enchanting to use so I sent that to Catryalini to see if she can figure out what to do with it. Nobody seems to want any enchants so I haven't been able to level her too much more lately. I guess I'll have to save junk weapons and practice on them and then vendor them. Last instance I went on with my sister's guild I couldn't beg anyone to take an enchant before we went in. Odd!

Weekend Game Play

Well, I really got to play a lot more than I thought I would this weekend. I didn't really play on any of the tunes in my sister's guild. Just left a bad taste in my mouth from the last time I played with her. Hope I get over that soon.

I worked on leveling my Lock and really like this toon so far. I really like playing in the Dwarf areas around Ironforge. So far even dying has not been too often or too painful. I'm learning a good rotation for my lock and learning which minion to bring out at the right time to maximize my effectiveness. Just hit level 15 and am halfway to level 16 due to a good solid 3 hours of play this morning.

I have gotten 4 coins of ancestery so far for the Lunar Festival, and gone to **** oh darn I forget the name of the place where the festival is being held. Anyway I'll update this when I figure it out. I want to get a festival outfit. I got some buff foods last time I was there.

Also been working on my inscription leveling and am at about 91 now and am able to make some minor glyphs for each class. It's making the inks to create the glyphs and scrolls that is difficult. I've got a bag packed with scrolls right now and most require enchanting to use them so I'll send one of each to my enchanter Catryalini and put the rest in the AH. I've also made a hunter glyph which I'll give to Rachel, she's doing so well and is passing me by already, which isn't hard to do. I'll use the other which is a Lock glyph for myself or give to Sarah for her Locky Lady. Fun Fun

New Addons

I've just downloaded two new addons, Auto bar and Dominos. So far I like them. They work well with my other addons and only a small learning curve for adjustments.

Auto bar lets you customize your bags and buff items for the class of your character and puts all your foods and bag items on a pop up bar for easy access. I really like it but I've only customized it for my Lock so far. I'm looking forward to seeing how it works on my mage that has so many more items that can be utilized by this app.

Dominos is just another bar addon, but I like it better than any of the others I've used so far and it works with my Titan addon very well. I like being able to move the bars wherever I want and not have them in a fixed arrangement like many other bar addons I've tried.

New Guild - The Re-Mix - Again

Ok so once I finally got online after the maintenance, I saw my bud Zeenah and started chatting and QQing about my fun (not) night on the "family" guild. She asked if I wanted my current toon, my Gnome Lock, to be in her guild and I jumped on the chance. So I did move 1 of my toons from the "family" guild back to the "fun" guild and I'm going to stay put this time. Zeenah has been playing a long time and has some high level toons and is really great about helping her buds level and quest.

I leveled my Lock up a notch this morning and am really enjoying playing her. Also, really getting my inscriptions level up good too, but had to log out for work just when I got a gang of new spells to work :( I'll have to see what they do later and I'll pass some along to my "family guildies" too. I'm looking forward to working up to being able to make glyphs. That's where there is money to be made also. ka ching!

Game Night 2

A few posts back I did mention that I left my really good buddy's guild to join my sister's guild.

I did this hoping it would give me more time to play with my girls since they are both in the guild. It has done that so far. But playing with my sister is the trial.

Did I mention that she's moody, tempermental and sometimes rude.

Example: last night she and I were running around killing mobs for her quest and gathering herbs. One of our guildies joins us and that's cool. Rachel is also in the area but hadn't made it over to us yet. When she does she needs to go to the AH. That's cool so ok waiting for her when my sister says over vent " I don't know what you guys are doing but I won't wait for you" and left and got on the boat to Darkshore.

Now I'm sorry but that is not how you treat guildies / friends / family you are in a group with. I was totally upset and quit the grouping. I changed toons and regrouped with Rachel who told me she was booted from the group as well.

And that is the Guild Leader. I wish I has stayed with my friends guild. She would never do that to a friend.

Had to vent. Dissapointed by her high handedness.

New Guild - Again

Well, I'm in another guild. I said goodbye to my friend's guild when my sister invited me to her newly created guild. I'm afraid my friend Zeenah is really ticked at me, but as I told her... family first. So both my daughters are in the guild and of course my sister. So there is no excuse for them not playing with me anymore...

I like the idea of having access to the guild bank but wish the access was more restricted. I don't want to store things in there for just anyone I don't know to use. I want to store extra herbs and enchanting mats in there but don't want to go expecting to do an enchant and find them all gone to some noob I don't even know.

The name of the guild is KillerKatz (cute) and there is a web site and vent (cool) but so far I can't gain access to the web site. Hopefully that will change soon. I guess my daughter Sarah is the web administrator so she'll hook me up.

Anyway, we've already run and instance with a 5 man team which went ok except one of our hunters kept pulling aggro on us all and wouldn't listen to instructions. We really needed a true tank for that run, but other than the two almost complete wipes (lol) it was great fun and I'm looking forward to doing more as RL allows.

Inscription Update

I've gotten some Ah Ha insight into inscription crafting. Inscripters are Scribes that make scrolls of power like Scroll of Intellect and Scroll of Spirit. Higher levels make the Glyphs for the various classes. I'm at level 60+ right now. The inks for the scrolls are made by grinding herbs. Fun and hopefully profitable.

Inscription

I was wondering what the whole imscription craft was about but I wasn't finding anyone who did it. So I decided to put my Locky Gnome on that profession with Herbalism. Definatelty the way to go after one trip to the Auction House. Yikes.

So I found out that Inscriptions is all about those scrolls of power like scroll of intellect, etc. I thought it might have something to do with the Glyph thingys that are on the spell book now. I still haven't figured that out. What are they for and what do they do. Where do you buy/acquire/make them, etc.

Obviously I need to do more research on this so I'll pause for now and come back with an update.

The Craft of War: BLIND from percula on Vimeo.

Hooked Up With An Old Friend

I logged onto, yet another of my alts, my mage and one of my old guildies whispered me. Her game name is Sheenah. She's a Dranei Hunter we used to play every day and she's a great on line friend. We did Black Fathoms Deep today and had a great time. She's level 72 so she one shotted everything and I grabbed the loot. HaHa she's too high a level to be able to use any of it anyway. I'll send the greens I can't use to the guild enchanter for mats and store the rest in the guild bank.

I am so glad she found me online. She has her own guild now and made me a pretty high level member :).

I remember when we played before and got into a couple different guilds together it just didn't work out. I don't think I'm really very social so I do better one on one or on very small groups. I think I quit playing my Mage cause I didn't want to have to group with large numbers of people I didn't know. To many chances for petsonalies to clash.

Anyway I'm trying it again for my friends sake. I may just have to tell her I really don't want to do large groups.

Water Form/Cat Form

Played WoW over the weekend with my sister. She's a a level 30 on her TAuen Druid. She helped me get my Tauren Druid his water form. He's been sitting idle for months cause I just couldn't do that quest. Yeah!

We also worked on my Nelf Druid and now she has her cat form. After doing Black Fathoms Deep she's heading to lvl 22 in a hurry and I think she's going to be my new main. I really like the versitility of the Druid class.

Level 20

I hit level 20 on my Nelf Druid last night. I'm hoping to find the quest for my cat form today. Fun!

I'm still working on the right spec for her. Right now she's more effective as a caster, but I'm not sure Balance is going to get us through the tough quests especially after we get cat form.

-- Post From My iPhone

Good Game Night

Had a evening playing my Nelf Druid last night. She's at level 19 now and I think we get our cat form quest next level, not sure though. Up till now the quests have been relatively easy with the exception of getting the water form. I almost quit at that one. I died so many times I just didn't want to go on. Then I logged into Wowhead and someone had posted the exact coordinants for Cartographer and off I went--cake.

What I'm trying to figure out now is how to spec this chick. Most of my points are in balance right now with one in resto. I know I should probably go feral while I solo but I really am a caster at heart.

So for now I'll experiment and do some research on builds and keep reading the Druid blogs like The Big Bear Butt. I love that one.

My Newest Alt

I started yet another alt the other day. I'm determined to try out every starting area in the game so I went with an Undead Warrior. So far so good she's fairly powerful. I'm not really good with the melee type classes being a caster at heart, but I like this starting area pretty well and it feels familiar since my main Belf Hunter has been hear several times as well as most of my other Horde alts, LOL

I do have a level 18 Ally human warrior so I'm not totally unfamiliar with class, but she gets killed off so much I get frustrated with playing her.

I'm going to have to buckle down one of these days and play one of these toons through, but for now i'm having fun so no harm done. It's just a game, right?

Druid learning curve

I'm playing a level 18 druid Nelf that I love to pieces. I've tried the druid class before but could never get the water form for the horde toon(still haven't) I think I"m having trouble adjusting to playing a druid without the help of a pet, as my main is a level 36 belf hunter.

I play solo so I don't have the advantage of having a group for support. I find I have to level my toon up two to three levels above the quest level just to complete the mission. Very frustrating. I'm going to keep going though as I really love this toon and am really enjoying learning this class.

Next step, Priestess.
